From the latest report stated that ACMA has been taken its decision to take actions against under rules to protect users of mobile premium services. According to the report it has almost 16 possible breaches under investigation from the start launch a year ago.
In accordance to the report: The ACMA has given Crystal’s Gifted Psychics Pty Ltd - a provider of 'psychic advice services' via SMS - a formal direction to comply with the rules. They were created by the ACMA registering a code of conduct for the provision of premium SMS services that had been developed by Communications Alliance.
Unfortunately to what ACMA has been said that the Crystal's Gifted Psychics has breached their obligations under the Mobile Premium Services Code. With the code that they failed to abide is that consumer helpline number must be included. They need to be legal on its advertising that they will need to cooperate with he Communications Alliance, preceding to supplying a mobile premium service to the public.
Starting from 1 July 2010 all Australian mobile phone users will be capable to block the capability of their phone to send messages to premium SMS numbers consequently defending themselves from the terrorize of dubious SMS based moneymaking schemes.
