Girl Missing: Family turns to Astrologers

A family has turned to astrology reading to find their missing daughter. The Naroda-based family has sought the help of at least 50 astrologers so far to get details about the location of their 16- year-old missing daughter.

According to a complaint filed by the missing girl's mother, Madhuben Pankhania, her daughter had ventured out of home on October 9 to deliver cloth samples but failed to return.Madhuben makes a living by stitching clothes. Upon enquiry it was found that the girl had made a call from a local PCO in the area and had informed somebody that she would be coming to the Kalupur railway station. The number on which the girl spoke was later revealed to be that of one Ramkaran Chaudhary, a resident of Surat.

Following repeated enquiries, Chaudhary said that his friend Chunaram, a resident of Devdi village in Rajasthan used to frequently talk to the girl. The complaint alleges that Chunaram had abducted the girl on some pretext.

The uncle of the girl, Hitesh Vara said that both Ramkaran and Chunaram were later brought by the Ahmedabad police but were let off."The police have not taken any action against the duo. Now we have to approach psychics to know her location. All of them have said that the girl will come back in three days or a week but nothing of that sort has happened so far," said Vara.

The father of the girl, Vajubhai Pankhania, works in Dubai as a labourer. Incidentally, the family has already started practicing some of the rituals advised by the astrologers in a bid to get back the girl.
For instance, the family has placed a stone on the clothes worn by the girl and have placed it beneath a bed. The family has questioned as to why the police is not acting against the duo.

“We are prepared to travel to Rajasthan to find the girl but the police has not filed a complaint against the duo though Ramkaran has confessed that Chunaram used to talk to the girl on his phone," said Vara. When contacted, investigating officer in the case PSI Shankar Neenamana told DNA, "We will be going to Rajasthan to find the girl after we obtain the requisite permission. She will be found very soon."

Social activist Bharat Zhala said that if the family of the missing girl does not get justice then a rally will be taken out by residents of the area ending at the Naroda police station.
